Ben Wesch (*1982) is a designer and musician exploring spatial sound, new synthesis approaches and gestural interfaces. With a background in guitar and oud and a foundation in generative and interaction design, he has been based in Munich since 2011 and is currently completing his Master’s in Postdigital Lutherie at the Tangible Music Lab in Linz. His practice involves building custom sound modules and investigating the material interplay between gesture, computation and sound. This work includes contributions to the Pure Data ecosystem through tools and abstractions for spatial and generative audio. He has presented research at the Sound and Music Computing (SMC) Conference, the Linux Audio Conference and PdMaxCon. Ben’s installations and performances have been presented at Ars Electronica, Stadtwerkstatt Linz, BB15, Klangfestival, lab.30 and other venues.
