Tangible Music Club #12: Luca Pagan + Tatiana Panyaeva

Stadtwerkstatt Saal

Luca Pagan is an artist and musician who investigates the edges of human perception at the intersection of body, sound and environment. He designs handcrafted body technologies, such as interactive sonic prostheses and AI-music wearable instruments, that recalibrate sensory experience through a symbiotic relationship with devices equipped with complementary intelligences.
Luca Pagan presents Rhizomatic Shell, a handcrafted interactive sonic prosthesis exploring embodied sound design. This device is conceived to detect muscular activity and motor dynamics in the hands and arms, transforming these signals into rhythmic–harmonic structures.

Tatiana Panyaeva is an experimental composer working across instrumental and electronic music, creating performative situations—graphical scores, performative theater, and immersive multichannel setups—to deepen perception and imagination. Her work has been presented at Ars Electronica, Wien Modern, Leicht über Linz, and the Musikverein. Based in Austria, she studied composition at the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna (with Wolfgang Liebhart) and since 2023 has pursued a master’s in digital music forms with Volkmar Klien at Anton Bruckner Private University; her training includes acousmatic/immersive sound with Enrique Mendoza and the Sonic Arts Summer Academy at the Ionian University.
Panyaeva presents a performative setup that creates multiple points of perception. A machine generates amplified mechanical sounds while propelling a graphic score in a continuous circle; musicians positioned along its path respond, forming a canon-like structure that draws on their cultural and professional backgrounds. As the cycle repeats, real-time interpretation yields micro-variations, producing a gradual, minimalist evolution that the audience can both engage with and analytically follow.
