Guest Lecture: Václav Peloušek

Václav Peloušek is a co-founder and current creative director of Bastl Instruments (est. 2013) – maker of synths, samplers, eurorack and other instruments. In his designs he explores efficient ways of interacting with electronic sounds in musical and surprising ways. In his musical career as singer-songwriter Toyota Vangelis, he is using his uniquely autotuned voice and seamless merging of the electronic and (simulated) acoustic sounds to dismantle the binaries of the human and the machine. The debut album Výklopný světlomety (Fullmoon forum 2023) was awarded best album at the music journalist awards Vinyla and nominated for the Anděl awards in the alternative music category. His songs revolve around love metaphors while in fact they sneakintimacy into topics such as big data, climate crisis or alienation.
